Josie and Gabe have cooked their way into the Superchef Kids Finals! With thirty minutes on the clock they must prepare an entree using the five ChooseMyPlate.gov guidelines for a healthy diet. Each Superchef Kid chef will have the aid of a sous chef for their entree.

In this episode Alessandra and Josie are challenged to create an appetizer using a secret ingredient that neither have ever tasted! What’s the secret ingredient? Watch and find out. Alessandra and Josie have 30 minutes to prepare and cook their appetizers to completion. Judges Aaron Sanchez, John Besh and Elizabeth Karmel will rate the contestants’ final products based on presentation, cleanliness and flavor. Will these two be able to get creative in the kitchen without making a mess or sacrificing taste?
Josie and Nico return to battle it out over a special themed burger challenge. Going in to this round Josie and Nico both have one golden whisk, so the pressure is on for both of them as they compete to determine who will go on to the final four.
Both young chefs have 20 minutes to craft a burger with a frightening theme: zombies! Each contestant’s burger must embody a zombie and the two competitors must figure out how to create a burger that embodies the theme in both presentation and flavor. And as always, judges will be paying special attention to the cleanliness of their work stations. In addition to Chef Besh and Chef Sanchez, grilling expert Elizabeth Karmel returns to help judge these ghoulish creations.
Nico is looking to mix it up a little and go for shock value with his unusual-looking, but delicious, Super Barf Burger, while Josie goes for cute and funny with her Little Zombie Burger. Will Nico’s combo of bacon and onions outdo Josie’s blue cheese infused burger? Plus, Josie reveals who her favorite Superchef judge is!
Breakfast — and a golden whisk — is on the table in this episode. Josie and Cannon must carefully and quickly execute the same blueberry pancake recipe multiple times while maintaining high quality. These young cooks must mix pancake batter and cook, flip and stack as many pancakes as they can in less than 10 minutes. Additionally, each pancake must have at least five blueberries and be cooked all the way through. The competitor with the highest number of pancakes that meet the judges’ standards wins a golden whisk.
Cannon is looking to redeem himself and win his first golden whisk while Josie wants to add another whisk to her apron, giving her a solid lead into the semifinals. Both contestants must get the most out of every minute in order to secure a win, but tension is high when Cannon reveals that his and Josie’s new friendship makes this challenge much more complicated.
We meet contestants Josie and Eliana in this challenge, which tests the competitors’ precision and accuracy in determining a dish’s flavor profile based on taste alone. Both contestants are given all eight ingredients for Chef Aaron Sanchez’s salsa verde, a versatile condiment inspired by Argentinean chimichurri sauce. But they must carefully taste Chef Sanchez’s version in order to determine the right amount of each ingredient goes into the final dish.
The judges will try each sauce and determine which is closest to Chef Sanchez’s original in taste and texture and whoever proves that they have a supreme sense of flavor wins a golden whisk.
